My Story
Hi, my name is Leila Shook and I am the face behind Shook Up Cakes! I'm a mother of three vivacious children who are by far my greatest creations! I'm also a wife of a loving, supportive husband who understands my complete 24/7 obsession for cakes.
I'm a self taught cake designer and I bake all my cake creations in my private kitchen. I love to create all kinds of cakes from simple classic buttercream cakes to the most extreme 3D cakes!
My passion for cakes began back in 2011 when a family member received a custom cake for their birthday. I was instantly hooked and I haven’t looked back since.
Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to have compete on a couple extreme cake competitions and win on Food Network Canada. I have also been featured multiple times in some of the biggest magazines in the world; Cake Masters Magazine, American Cake Decorating Magazine and Canadian Living Magazine.
